Hello writers, I know it's been a while, but will be getting back on track with updates, helpful articles, tips, tools and more.
I've got a few exciting things to announce, not the least of which is the release of my newest book Bring It! Answers to the 100 Questions You Don't Get to Ask at Your Audition which I did with acclaimed casting director and acting coach James Levine and celebrated actor Charles David Carpenter. It's a fantastic guide for new and experienced actors in a quick-and-easy format, perfect for bringing with to auditions. As you may know, I have a lot of experience working with acting coaches on their books and this is one of my favorites!
On the book publishing front, this year has also seen the release of the brave personal story But I Love Him, by new author Michelle Jewsbury, a book I had the privilege to edit. It's a tough but important story about domestic violence that sheds some light on the ever-pressing question: Why do they stay?
I have a few others coming out this year, including the much-anticipated release of Towards the Moon with Fellini, Paddle Out and A Water Color Dream, three very distinct memoirs from three amazing women!
On the playwriting front, I was honored to have two of my short plays make their international premiere as part of the Short + Sweet Theatre Festival in Sydney, Australia. It was a very exciting moment for me that was all the better when I heard the pieces were well-received by audiences.
And finally, because of the festival and the multiple productions of my hit adaptation It's a Wonderful Life: The Radio Play, I am now officially a member of the Dramatist's Guild. It's an honor I hold very dear to my heart as I never really thought of myself as a playwright!
Lots more to come in the next few months. Til then, I wish you all the best on your writing adventures!
